Molecular sieve 5A zeolite powder, or zeolite powder 5A, is the calcium form of the type A molecular sieve with a pore size of about 5 angstroms (0.5 nm). It can selectively adsorb molecules such as water (H232), linear alkanes (n-C4H10), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), alcohols, and esters, etc., while excluding branched alkanes and aromatics.
Zeolite powder 5A appears as a white, fine powder; it is the powder type molecular sieve 5A. And it can be processed into balls, strips, or irregular shapes by mixing with binder and other additives, to form molecular sieves or directly to make activated powders after high temperature calcination.
5A zeolite powder is derived from 4A zeolite powder by partially exchanging sodium ions for calcium ions.
